2025 Foxborough Supercross Round 12 Results (Updated)

Get ready for Foxborough! It’s a wet and wild one here at Gillette Stadium for round 12 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross and SuperMotocross World Championship. Rains have soaked the track but fans are still in for a treat. We’re under a shortened schedule today but Aaron Plessinger and Chance Hymas took full advantage of the tough conditions. 2025-foxborough-supercross-cycle-news

HIGHLIGHTS

450 MAIN

Justin Cooper nailed the holeshot at the start of the 450SX Main Event. The Yamaha rider ran up front on the opening lap but later suffered his struggles, along with a penalty, and finished off the box and outside the top 10.

Aaron Plessinger passed for the lead on the opening lap and made a break for it. The KTM rider made looked comfortable in the mud and navigated the long ruts with relative ease. Plessinger led all of the nine laps and clinched his first win of the season.

This marks Plessinger’s second ever Main Event win.

Shane McElrath finished second in the 450 Main. The Quad Lock Honda won his heat race earlier in the night and had never scored a 450 podium until tonoght. He but stayed up front for the entire race and crossed the line in second place. McElrath was more than 20 seconds behind Plessinger at the line.

Cooper Webb managed to land third on the night. He was down two different times early in the race but bounced back with aggression and passed his way from sixth to third in the final few laps. With another podium Webb extends his points lead back to 15 over Chase Sexton.

250 MAIN

The 250 main event was shortened due to the rainy conditions. Carnage started immediately as RJ Hampshire tucked the front end in the first turn and created a pileup before the racers even crossed the holeshot line. Among the carnage was Seth Hammaker.

Chance Hymas is officially a main event winner.

Privateer racer, Dayton Briggs, led the opening laps but fell and was was overtaken by Honda HRC’s Chance Hymas. Hymas kept things upright and limped his bike to the finish line without issues. He claimed his first career win and is now the sixth different winner in six different rounds. Hymas now jumps to fourth in points.

Cullin Park crossed the line second after navigating the tough conditions. This marks a career best finish for the Phoenix Racing Honda rider.

Gage Linville rounded out the podium in third for his first ever podium. The KTM rider made a series of passes in the closing stages and kept his machine out of trouble to bring home the final spot on the box.

Points leader Tom Vialle found himself on the ground and finished dead last. He’s now tied in points with Seth Hammaker. Hammaker and Hampshire both remounted after falling in the first turn and finished ninth and 15th respectively.

QUALIFYING

Riders were forced to learn the track quickly and put in a fast time with the limited qualifying sessions due to the poor weather conditions. Justin Barcia grabbed the fastest time in the 450’s, his first time doing so since Oakland back in 2018. Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger went second and third, despite being one and two seconds off Barcia’s best time.

250SX EAST

We’re back on the east coast for round 12 which means the 250SX East riders are on the gate. The track continues to deteriorate which allowed the B Group riders to take full advantage. Mark Fineis topped the overall times with a 1:11 while regular front runners like Nate Thrasher and RJ Hampshire rounded out the top 10, more than seven seconds behind. Dayton Briggs and Ayden Shive were second and third overall. Worth noting, points leader Tom Vialle qualified 31st overall.

SMX Next

The SMX Next riders got the best track of the day as the rains and bikes had yet to really destroy the track. Alexander Fedortsov clocked the best time and is credited with being the fastest rider of the day. Luke Fauser and Klark Robbins rounded out the podium in qualifying.
