American Led Early in this 125cc Motocross World Championship Event

In this week’s Throwback we wind back the clock to 1986 and arrive at Vrigstad, Sweden, and round 8 of that year’s World Championship 125c Motocross Series. This shot from early in the first moto shows American Bobby Moore (66) with the lead on his Suzuki over John van den Berk (5), Anto Pantilla (39), Pedro Tragter (51) Giuseppe Andreani (40) and others. Moore led the moto for five laps before settling for third behind van den Berk and Pantilla. He ran well inside the top 10 in the second moto until a rear tire puncture ended his day. Moore ended up ninth in the championship that season despite missing early rounds due to injury. Moore went on to win the 125cc MX World title in 1994.
