A 12-Year-Old Ricky Carmichael was Center Stage in Oklahoma

In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock 32 years to 1992, and the National Motosport Association (NMA) Grand National Championship Motocross event held in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Class winners at Ponca City that year are pictured at the awards ceremony. Riders on the stage that day included (l to r) Frank Fay Sr., Johnny Williams, Casey Johnson, Richie Horton, Ricky Carmichael, Randy Norman, Johnny Marley, Robbie Reynard and Tommy Clowers. Several of these young racers went on to solid pro careers, most notably Carmichael of course.
