FMF Honda Rider Joined on Podium by Shae Bentley and Travis Preston
In this week’s Throwback, we dial back the clock almost 25 years to January of 2000 and the Phoenix Supercross at Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Field). There we visit the AMA 125cc Western Region Supercross podium topped by FMF Honda’s Casey Lytle (center). Lytle had to be one of the riders with the most podiums before finally earning a victory, but he that night he broke through in Phoenix and climbed to the top rung of the ladder. Lytle didn’t get to the point until two laps to go, but this time he held on to score the win. Shae Bentley (left) scored his best finish to that point in his career (he would win the very next 125 West round in Houston) with a runner-up result. Third was Travis Preston (right) making it three different brands – Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki – on the podium.
