Stark Varg says its new EX model is “more than an off-road marvel—it’s fully road-legal. Riders can legally take it on the streets in countries across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and parts of the United States.” California and some other states will take a little longer to get approved.
Riders can customize the bike’s performance with options for power delivery, engine braking and regenerative curves, all adjustable via the handlebar control switch (five modes available).
The company claims the street-legal enduro Stark Varg EX has a claimed peak power of 80 hp, and its 7.2kWh battery delivers 20 percent more range than the Varg MX. The claimed range is 1.3-7 hours, and the charging time is 1-2 hours using the included charging stand (and a 240-volt outlet).
Its 7.2 kWh honeycomb magnesium battery not only powers the bike but also serves as a structural component, contributing to a lightweight and centralized design.
The EX features an updated steel frame and lightweight carbon-fiber subframe, a 4000-lumen headlamp with integrated “over-molded” silicone blinkers, KYB suspension, aluminum Fatbar handlebars, handguards, an updated chain guard, a high-grade skid plate and 220mm Brembo brakes.
Stark Arkenstone—a cutting-edge, military-grade Android—is integrated in the dash and features a built-in navigation system with turn-by-turn direction finding. It can has GPS trail recording (with community sharing options) and on-the-go adjustment of power, engine braking and regeneration settings.
Claimed weight is 265 pounds.
Two versions are available. MSRP is $12,900 for the standard 60 horsepower model or $13,900 for the “Alpha” 80 horsepower model.
