CFMoto Shows Off New 1000cc V4 Superbike Engine at EICMA

CFMoto has taken the wraps off its V.04 engine at EICMA in Milan. In what will be the company’s first mass-produced 1000cc sportbike motor, the V.04 is claimed to produce 209hp at 14,500 rpm and 84 lb-ft of torque at 12,500 rpm with a claimed weight of 135.6 lb from its 90° V4. However, official details from CFMoto remain cagey.
The motor shown off at EICMA was just a model, CFMoto stating that it has designs on going racing in the near future, whenever the new bike in which the motor will be housed will be released. Rumors emanating out of Milan suggest we won’t be seeing a production ready machine until at least 2026.
The V4 will use a counter-rotating crank similar to the MV Agusta F3 800 and Ducati Panigale V4 range, dual overhead cams with finger followers operating the valves and two fuel injectors per cylinder.
We’ll have more updates on this as the details come to hand.
