One of this writer’s all-time favorite bikes has been the Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 range, but it has received little to no love of late from the Aprilia engineers.
Yes, we saw some slight model updates back in 2021 when we tested the bikes in California, but they were nip and tuck updates rather than a full makeover.
One could argue that the 2025 iterations are more of the same, but there are a few choice updates that differentiate the incoming model from its predecessor.
Chief among those changes is the fitment of a 52mm throttle body and the 22cc increase in capacity to 1099cc, with Aprilia claiming 180 hp and 89 lb-ft of torque at 9600 rpm. That’s still a ways off chief rivals BMW and Ducati with the S/M 1000 R and Streetfighter V4 range, both of whom claim well over 200 hp for their super-nakeds.
Ohlins still provides the Smart EC 2.0 front and rear suspension on the Tuono 1100 Factory, while the base model gets Sachs fully-adjustable suspension front and rear.
Both machines get the new five-inch TFT and the Factory also gets updated electronics including a new Aprilia Wheelie Control algorithm and new Aprilia Slide Control. But, perhaps more interesting than that, is Aprilia’s decision to bring the base model back into line as a lower-spec super-naked rather than keeps its designation as the V4 that could go sport touring.
Back in 2021, Aprilia took the base model and gave it higher bars and a tall windscreen, plus a different seat to make it into a bit of a sport touring steed, but sales were slow (even though it’s my personal pick if the Tuonos if all I’m doing is street riding). As such, it’s Back to The Future for the base bike as a lower spec super-naked so if you want to go sport touring with an higher screen, you’ll have to hit up the aftermarket.
The base Tuono V4 will set you back $16,299 MSRP, while the Tuono Factory V4 is set to sell for $19,699. Both bikes will be available at dealers from March 2025.
