The 2024 X-Trial World Championship concluded at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona, Spain, November 16. Toni Bou was the winner, with his 100th podium in the indoor discipline. It was also the 36-time World Champion’s sixth of the year.
The Montesa Cota 4RT rider dominated and led the way in the first round of Saturday night’s competition. In the second round, he qualified for the final as the pacesetter and, in the last round, with five points to his name, he took the win.
“I’m very happy with the end of the season,” Bou said. “I felt very comfortable on the bike. After the result in Estonia, the goal was to get back to the top, and we achieved it. It’s been an almost perfect year; we finished it in the best way, and I want to thank the team for their great work. In December, the 2025 season starts, and we’re already focused on that.”
Sherco’s Benoit Bincaz of France outdueled GasGas Factory Racing’s Jaime Busto for third. Bincaz edged out Busto by just three marks.
Vertigo’s Miquel Gelabert was fourth and Sherco’s Adam Raga fifth.
Bou finished out the FIM X-Trial World Championship with 128 points to Busto’s 92.
“Overall, I’m happy with my ride,” Busto said. “I knew going into tonight that the first and second lap were super important to make sure I got into the final to secure second in the championship. I started the night strong but, unfortunately, relaxed a bit too much in the final and made too many mistakes. I finished on the podium again, though, and got second in the championship, which I’m super happy about. It’s been a great season full of strong results.”
Bou’s Repsol Honda teammate took third in the championship, followed by Benoit and Great Britain’s Toby Martyn (Montesa). Raga was sixth. CN
