White Scored Heat Race Win over Rob Morrison and Eddie Wirth
In this week’s Throwback we dial back the time machine 50 years to April 20, 1974 and land at South Bay Speedway Half-Mile in the border town of Chula Vista, California. This photo shows Tom White (No. 80) powering up on the inside aboard his Harley-Davidson XR750 trying to get by Eddie Wirth (No. 77) and Rob Morrison (No. 10) in their Heat race. White eventually made the low line work and he won the qualifying race. White went on to finish runner up to Dewayne Keeter in the expert main event. Wirth rounded out the podium finishers in third.
