2024 Women’s Pro Motocross Championship Round 7 Results

Lachlan Turner (GG) capitalized on a great first-moto start and forceful passing in the second moto to win the Pastrana Pro Challenge held at Pleasure Valley Raceway in Seward, Pennsylvania, on September 29, round seven of the Women’s Pro Motocross Championship (WMX), going 1-1 to do so.

“I got the holeshot in the first moto and I’m very surprised, because it’s been about two years since I got a holeshot,” said Turner. “I was very excited.”

Turner led from start to finish, building an eight-second gap early in the race before hitting a wall at the midway point.

“At the halfway mark, my arms pumped up pretty bad, and I just kept losing time. Jordan Jarvis caught me super quick,” said Turner. “I was able to keep about three bikelengths ahead. The last section was kind of scary, but I held on for the win.”

Turner came out of turn one in about fifth in moto two and immediately started to make moves, working her way to the front and passing Yamaha’s Jordan Jarvis in the process.

“After passing Jarvis, I battled with Kyleigh [Stallings] for a bit before I got around her,” said Turner. “We battled, and I held her off for the win.”

Jarvis was second in moto one, ahead of Kawasaki’s Kyleigh Stallings, while the two swapped places in the second moto.

“The conditions were a lot different than what I’m used to, honestly,” said Stallings, who finished second overall.

Stallings got off the line in fourth to start moto one. “I couldn’t get the hang of the concrete start, it was wet, which made it difficult,” said Stallings.”

Stallings managed to pass Jamie Astudillo for second, but by then, Turner was long gone, and she eventually settled for third when Jarvis passed her and Astudillo for second late in the race.

Stallings got the holeshot in the second moto. After two laps, Turner ducked under her in a right-hander to take the lead.

“I think I led for maybe two laps and then Turner ended up passing me,” said Stallings. “I tried to stay with her for as long as I could, and we were probably like five seconds from each other the rest of the race.”

Astudillo ran in second place during the early part of the second moto before settling into fourth when Stallings and Jarvis passed her. She went 4-4 for fourth overall.

Kawasaki’s Sophie Phelps, who is in the battle for the championship, went 5-5 for fifth overall.

The WMX Finale, which was previously scheduled to race on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Ponca will now run on Friday, October 4, 2024.
