2024 Barber Pro Challenge Race Results
Press Release | October 15, 2024
Stefano Mesa took an easy victory in the 2024 Barber Vintage Festival’s Pro Challenge race at Barber Motorsports Park at the weekend.
The Barber Pro Challenge Race regulations were changed for 2024, moving from only big twin-cylinder machines to include MotoAmerica Supersport race bikes, with a number of current MotoAmerica stars in attendance.
Mesa, riding his Boulder Motorsports Pierobon X80R fitted with a Ducati 1198cc V-twin Superbike engine, was the class of the field by taking the win 5.7 seconds ahead of MotoAmerica regulars Hayden Gillim (Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R750) and Tyler Scott (Vision Wheel Ecstar M4 Suzuki).
Behind Scott, four-time Daytona 200 Champion Danny Eslick made a racing return, leading the race early on the TOBC Racing Triumph Street Triple 765 RS before dropping back to fourth at the flag.
Eslick bested MotoAmerica Twins Cup star Gus Rodio (Ducati Panigale V2) with Kyle Ohnsorg on the second Vision Wheel Suzuki rounding out the top six.
The win netted Mesa a handy $10,000, with Gillim collecting $6000 and Scott taking home $4000 prize money. CN
