DesmoSport Ducati’s Broc Pearson secured his first overall victory in the Australian Superbike Championship during round six of the 2024 season at Goulburn’s One Raceway, October 5-6.
Battling strong crosswinds, Pearson’s 1-3 finishes in the two Pirelli Superbike races stood out, keeping him in the championship race heading into the grand finale at The Bend on November 8-10.
Pearson now sits on 219.5 points, trailing former ASBK champions Josh Waters (McMartin Racing Ducati, 256.5 points) and Mike Jones (Yamaha Racing Team, 229.5 points).
Jones claimed victory in race two at One Raceway, but Pearson’s consistency proved key on a day when several top contenders failed to finish.
“It’s been an exciting and fun weekend for the team,” Pearson said. “We’ve been at the front of the pack and secured a round win. It’s another milestone, leading from start to finish in race one and capping it off with a third in race two.”
Jones finished second overall at round six with his 8-1 results, followed by Waters (5-2) and Arthur Sissis (Stop and Seal Yamaha, 6-4). CN
