IRC Tires launched new hard enduro and technical trail-riding tires, and new tire sizes, at the Red Bull Tennessee Knockout, which took place August 23-25, 2024.
IRC launched new hard enduro and technical trail-riding tires.
The expanded lineup includes new, larger rear sizes for the popular VE33S Gekkota and JX8 Gekkota, and an all-new, FIM-spec racing rear tire (13mm knob height/tread depth) in the GX20. Racers and riders now have expanded size choices, with both the VE33S and JX8 getting a 140/80-18 size and a 120/100-18 choice. Before, the only size available for both was 110/100-18. The new GX20 comes in 140/80/18 only.
IRC says the new tires represent years of development, with both U.S.-based and international teams working on the project, including their marquee international rider Taddy Blazusiak. IRC also said tire sizes have been in high demand from the growing hard enduro and technical trail-riding market, and adding them to the lineup brings more options for more conditions across the board.
“Customers have asked for bigger sizes from IRC’s hard enduro and technical trail-riding lineup and we’re proud to show off the new VE33S and JX8 options, as well as showcase the all-new GX20 tire,” said Masaki “Marc” Ikeda, IRC Tires USA Operations Manager.
“The development and testing work put into these tires is substantial, and we’re confident we now have the most complete lineup of size and pattern/profile options for the passionate hard enduro and technical trail riders. With the new sizes, riders and racers can fine-tune their tire setup for all terrain and conditions, and they now have more options to work with air pressures, mousses and the like to dial-in traction.”
IRC says the new tires will be available as early as November 2024 at dealers across the country.CN
