Wels, Austria (September 3, 2024) — Round five of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship at Red Bull TKO saw Sherco USA’s Rachel Gutish secure the Women’s Hard Enduro Performance Award supported by 24MX. Winning the Women’s Pro class on Saturday, before finishing 52nd overall on Sunday, Gutish delivered a memorable performance in Sequatchie, Tennessee.
With Sandra Gomez and Tjša Fifer recipients of the award so far this season, round five’s Red Bull TKO saw the opportunity of a new Women’s Hard Enduro Performance Award supported by 24MX winner to emerge.
Charging ahead to win the Women’s Pro class on Saturday, Gutish then backed that up by placing 52nd outright on Sunday. Naturally pleased with her performance, earning the Women’s Hard Enduro Performance Award supported by 24MX was an additional triumph in what was Gutish’s eighth time competing in the USA’s most-prestigious hard enduro.
“For the Women’s Pro class we raced the TKO #2 loop on Saturday, which also saw me qualify through to Sunday’s racing from that,” told Rachel. “Although our category was finished on Saturday, I decided to keep going and see how far I could get on Sunday. To finish 52nd overall is a result I’m very proud of.
“This was actually my eighth Red Bull TKO, and it’s one of my favourite events every year. Conditions were a lot drier this year and not so wet as in previous years. It was good fun, for sure, with the mixture of fast sections and technical riding.”
Although only 28 years old, Gutish is a veteran of the sport with 13 years of competition under her belt. A fierce competitor, who’s well-experienced in all aspects of hard enduro and enduro, it’s clear that she’s a great ambassador to those around her.
“I started riding when I was seven years old and I’m 28 now. I rode my first GNCC at 15 years old and came to the second-ever Red Bull TKO when I was 16. So I’ve been riding a long time!
“Later this year, I will race the FIM 6DAYS® in Spain for the United States on the Women’s World Trophy team. I’m also doing the AMA EnduroCross series, and I’m currently third overall in the FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship. So I’m getting to do a lot of cool races this year in addition to racing the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship at Red Bull TKO.”
Rachel is very thankful to those who help to make her racing endeavors possible.
“Finally, I’d like to give a big thank you to Sherco USA, plus the local Sherco dealership, Bonecutter Offroad, who loaned me a bike to race here. Also, thank you to FactoryOne Motorsports, MOOSE Racing, Arai, Nine Two, Wheel Worx, Enduro Engineering, XC Gear and, of course, my parents for supporting my racing this year.”
The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship continues with round six at Sea to Sky in Turkey on October 10-12.
