Riders and fans from across the globe trekked to Daytona every March
In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock to 1978 and land at Daytona International Speedway and that year’s Daytona 200. A big group of riders run together in the event that year led by Skip Aksland (No. 27) followed by Britain’s Barry Woodall (No. 323), Gary Scott (No. 5), James Gervais (No. 389), Henry DeGouw (No. 120), John Long (No. 36), Wes Cooley and others. Aksland had a very good day finishing on the podium with winner Kenny Roberts and runner up Johnny Cecotto.
