Cooper Webb Out For Budds Creek Pro Motocross
Cycle News Staff | August 14, 2024
Ah, not the news we wanted to see today. After returning for just one race at Unadilla, Cooper Webb is confirmed out for this weekend’s round of Pro Motocross at Budds Creek and the season finale at Ironman Raceway. Webb announced he suffered a sprained thumb from a crash in moto two on Saturday.
“Sitting out this weekend is not the news I wanted to share, but very thankful that the scans all came back good and just show a sprain of my thumb,” Webb said. “Despite the ass kicking, thumb, and gnarly track conditions, I genuinely had a damn good time being back with my team and people at Unadilla. Going to play it smart, rest it a few days and focus on SMX and beyond.”
The Star Racing Yamaha team added, “Cooper Webb will sit out this weekend’s Pro Motocross penultimate round at Budds Creek to focus on returning to full fitness for the Supermotocross World Championship Finals. The multi-time champion sprained his thumb in a crash during Moto 2 at Unadilla and will reevaluate next weekend for Ironman.”
This news comes on the heels of Eli Tomac returning to action with the Star Racing Yamaha team.
