Jackpine Gypsies MC 2024 Rally Schedule
Press Release | July 3, 2024
Jackpine Gypsies MC has released its schedule of racing events for the 84th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which kicks off on August 2 and runs until the 11th.
The Jackpine Gypsies MC is one of the oldest AMA-chartered off-road clubs. Founded in 1936 and chartered in 1937, the following year, on August 14, 1938, the club joined with the City of Sturgis to hold a local rally over a three-day period in August, featuring a Half-Mile dirt-track race.
The club still owns and maintains the tracks, hillclimb and fields where Sturgis is held. The rally’s first-ever event was a single race called the “Black Hills Classic.” Just nine riders participated in front of a small audience. Today, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the largest motorcycle rally in the world. The annual event is held in the Black Hills and in Sturgis, South Dakota, for 10 days in August.
