The Ducati Superquadro twin-cylinder motor has been one of the cornerstones of the company’s modern era success, powering models such as the 748, 749, 848, 899 and 959, up to the current Panigale V2.
With the Superquadro now in its last evolution, Ducati is releasing the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition, limited to 555 units worldwide and available in U.S. dealerships in December 2024 for a handsome $26,995 MSRP.
The initial Superquadro engine was developed in 2011 for the 1199 Panigale, the name reflecting the high ratio between bore and stroke. It was eventually increased to 1285cc displacement for the 1299 Panigale, which pumped out a claimed 209 hp. Over the years, smaller displacement versions emerged, first at 898cc and then at 955cc. The 955cc version powered Nicolò Bulega to Ducati’s first Supersport world title in 2023 and Josh Herrin and Xavi Fores to the MotoAmerica Supersport title in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
As for the Panigale V2 Final Edition, Ducati claims 155 hp at 10,750 rpm and torque of 76.7 lb-ft at 9,000 rpm, making it the most powerful of any current supersport-level machine.
Resplendent in the white, red, black, and grey color scheme, the Panigale V2 Final Edition comes with all the regular bells and whistles of the base V2 including a 6-axis IMU, ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.
Chassis is the monocoque design matched to Ohlins front and rear suspension. Some extra bling comes in the form of the billet aluminum, adjustable Rizoma rider and passenger footpegs and carbon fiber front and rear mudguards, silencer end, chain guard, clutch cover protection, swingarm cover, and shock absorber cover.
