In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock 25 years to 1999 and what was then called the AMA/Mazda Truck Motocross Nationals. This Karl Ockert photo shows a portion of the 40 riders lined up on the starting gate for one of the 125cc National motos at Kenworthy’s Motocross Park in Troy, Ohio. Longtime fans of the sport will remember a lot of these talented riders. From left to right are Paul Currie (No. 46), Jeff Gibson (No. 275), Isaiah Johnson, (No. 198), Travis Preston (No. 43), Ryan Duff (No. 99), Buddy Antunez (No. 54), Danny Smith (No. 58), Ricky Carmichael (No. 1), Nathan Ramsey (No. 25) and Michael Craig (No. 19). Ricky Carmichael won the national that day over Brock Sellards and Stephane Roncada. The rider who finished next in the group pictured behind RC was Nathan Ramsey who scored 9th.
