The British Superbike Championship served up another stunner at Donington Park with one of the fiercest four-way battles ever seen in the series in race three (check out the video of the last lap).

Following on from race one in which Kyle Ryde (OMG Grilla Yamaha Racing) beat current BSB number-one Tommy Bridewell (Honda Racing UK) and veteran Leon Haslam (ROKiT Haslam Racing BMW Motorrad) and race two, where Glenn Irwin (Hager PBM Ducati) bested Haslam and Bridewell, race three was a bar brawl of a match between Irwin, Bridewell, former Moto3 World Champion Danny Kent (McCamish Yamaha) and Australian Jason O’Halloran (Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki).
For 20 laps, the quartet raced bar-to-bar, no one able to break away until O’Halloran made the decisive break on the last lap when Bridewell and former teammate Irwin ran each other wide at the Foggy Chicane.
In the end, Bridewell would get his own back, divebombing Irwin at the final corner and allowing Kent through for third place, with Irwin relegated to fourth.
“To go out and win is incredible,” O’Halloran said. “It’s nice to get up here and win for the team. They haven’t won in a couple of years, so hopefully, it’s the first of many. I didn’t want to be making my move on the last lap because I knew it was going to be a bit scruffy; I knew I had plus zero on the board, so I knew there were four of us as well, and I didn’t want to miss out on the podium.
“I knew where I was fast on the track and where I could make a clean pass, and I just had to get close enough to do it. We all had strong points on the track, so it was a bit of a yo-yo effect. But I got close enough with a lap to go. On the last lap, I just put my head down, tried to hit every apex, and didn’t make any mistakes. CN
