Once again, hundreds of racers took part, including several racers you might have heard of, like Marvin Musquin, Josh Grant, Jason Lawrence, Darryn Durham, Ronnie Renner, Carson Brown and Ryan Sipes. However, it was Tyler Medaglia who won the feature event, the Coup de Grace Survival Race. This is the race everyone looks forward to, and it caps off the weekend of racing. It was a packed field with more than 130 finishers, and none of them knew how long they would be racing since the end of this unique race is always decided on the whim of the officials while it’s in progress. This time, the checkered flag dropped after 16 laps, and the winner was the same as last year’s—Medaglia. He led them all, too. Medaglia rounded the first lap four seconds ahead of Camille Chapeliere and stretched it out to more than four minutes by the time the checkered flag waved.
Daniel Jaramillo was third and Justin Sipes was fourth, and they were the last two to finish the race on the lead lap. Brandon Keene rounded out the top five.
Medaglia also won the Expert/Pro 250 racing after leading all eight laps. Ben Nelko was second and Travis Mecking third.
Wyatt Kerr of Canada won the Pro/Am GP – Expert/Pro 450 race, with RJ Wageman finishing in second.
The Old Switcheroo race included the Wrecking Crew, Industry, Man/Woman, Parent/Child, and Expert/Pro teams, where team members may share a bike or ride their own. Every lap, riders swap wristbands in the transition area and race to the end 75 minutes later. Brown won the Wrecking Crew race, with Camille Chapeliere taking second and Musquin third.
Jason Lawrence teamed up with Jed Drye to win the Switcheroo Expert/Pro class.
The Bossa Nova GP three-man team race included the Fast Guys (Intermediate/Expert/Pro), Moto Industry, and Regular Joes divisions; all scored in Motocross des Nation format. In The Fast Guys overall, Chad Allen came in first place, Ashton Arruda finished second, and Wyatt Bass rounded out the top three.
Brown and Justin Sipes won the Moto A GoGo Team Race, and Hannah Hodges and Paxton Zivitski took top honors in the Moto Industry (team) class.
The Grand Prix race lasted around 30 minutes in the individual classes, while it went to 40 minutes in the pro classes. Brown looked awesome on his two-strokes and won overall in the Two-Stroke (29 & Under) Expert/Pro GP and the 250 GP Expert/Pro. In the 450 GP Expert/Pro race, Camille Chapeliere, a three-time French champ, took top honors.
