Here is the press release from WorldSBK…
The 2024 WorldSBK campaign will now feature a visit to the Circuito Estoril in October following the cancellation of the Hungarian Round, which had been scheduled for August. The Estoril Round will take place from October 11-13, becoming the penultimate round in the 2024 campaign. The Portuguese venue will host WorldSBK action as well as WorldSSP and WorldWCR, the classes originally scheduled to race at Balaton Park in August, but also the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale.
Due to works at the Hungarian venue not being completed by the scheduled date (August 23rd-August 25th), Balaton Park will no longer host WorldSBK action. Estoril’s round will take place a week before the season finale at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, making for an action-packed end of the season.
Estoril hosted WorldSBK action as recently as 2022 and provided thrilling races. In World Superbike, all three races went down to the last lap with incredible battles involving Jonathan Rea, Alvaro Bautista and Toprak Razgatlioglu. In WorldSSP, Dominique Aegerter claimed a double victory, while in WorldSSP300, Samuel Di Sora pulled off an unbelievable comeback from 31st on the grid to claim a sensational but implausible victory. In 2020, the Portuguese venue was the scene where Rea claimed his unprecedented sixth title.

The Jerez round of WorldSBK, originally scheduled for October 11-13, has been moved back one week, and is now planned for October 18-20.
Here is the press release from WorldSBK…
The Motul FIM Superbike World Championship will return in 2024 to the historic Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, with the Spanish track hosting the season finale for a second consecutive campaign. The 12th round of the 2024 season, originally planned for October 11-13, has now been moved back by one week, with the 2024 Prometeon Spanish Round now scheduled for October 18-20.
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and WorldSBK agreed to delay this year’s curtain closer by one week, responding to the dynamic demands of the local events calendar and at the request of the township of Jerez de la Frontera.
Jerez returned to the WorldSBK calendar last year as a late replacement for the Argentinean Round, hosting an incredibly memorable season finale which included Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) winning his second WorldSBK title, Jonathan Rea’s final race with the Kawasaki Racing Team, and one of the best battles in the history of the Championship in Race 2 between Bautista and Toprak Razgatlioglu.
The 2024 provisional schedule for World Superbike is out. The 12-round series kicks off with Phillip Island once again and will visit Hungary for the first time since 1990 at the all-new Balaton Park Circuit. The Cremona Circuit in Northern Italy will host round 10, and the final round takes place in October at Jerez.

There’s a whole new feel to the 2024 calendar in World Superbike, as first-time visits are intertwined with the staples of the calendar
The 2024 Motul FIM Superbike World Championship’s provisional calendar has been released, with plenty to look forward to as the fastest production-based motorcycle racing Championship in the world readies for another action-packed year. Two new venues, a slightly different order and all the usual classics, 2024 is going to be another season to remember for countless reasons. We check out the 12-round calendar in closer details.
It’s our traditional starting point that ignites a new chapter in WorldSBK history in 2024; the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit will raise the curtain once again for the Australian Round from February 23-25 with WorldSSP in attendance, with the Official Test taking place in the week leading up the event on the 19th and 20th. One month later from the March 22-24, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya finds a new slot on the calendar with our European season well underway in north-eastern Spain; there’ll be a Supported Test on the 14th and 15th a week before the round. The round itself will also see WorldSSP300 action return. Completing the opening quarter of the season from April 19-21, the historic TT Circuit Assen will see big crowds and epic action again in the Netherlands.
WorldSBK will head for holidays in spring with May free of action; the fourth round of the season takes place on June 14-16 for the first of two visits to Italy at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, whilst the UK Round is next up at Donington Park a month later from July 12-14, maintaining its usual summer slot. This is part of the first back-to-back rounds, with the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic welcomed back for a fourth consecutive season a week later on July 19-21.
The second half of the year fires up in August as after two weekends off, racing action returns with the Portuguese Round at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve from August 9-11. Two weeks later and the first of two new venues; for the first time since 1990, Hungary is on the WorldSBK calendar with the all-new Balaton Park Circuit, just an hour south west of the majestic Hungarian capital of Budapest and on the shores of Lake Balaton, the largest in central Europe. Two weeks later and the Championship hits the three-quarter mark with the historic Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours from the September 6-8.
The final three rounds of the season features our second new circuit; the Cremona Circuit in northern Italy on September the 20-22. Our second visit to the country takes place just half an hour from the medieval center of Cremona itself. A week later and it’s back to Spain for the penultimate round of the year from the picturesque and unique MotorLand Aragon, while two weeks later, the final round awaits further south. Expect a showdown at the Circuit de Jerez – Angel Nieto from October 11-13 [*Updated on January 16, 2024 to a week later on October 18-20].
With both being new circuits on the WorldSBK calendar, Balaton Park and Cremona are both subject to homologation.
