2024 KTM 790 Adventure Specs and Price
Rennie Scaysbrook | November 22, 2023
The KTM 790 of 2019 signaled the start of Mattighofen getting really serious about the mid-size ADV segment but as the years grew, so did its capacity, now topping out at 889 cc—and soon it’ll get the 2024 Duke’s 947cc motor. Not really a mid-size anymore, right?
KTM seems to have thought so too and have just announced they’ll be bringing back the 790 for 2024. It’ll be the base model, no 790 Adventure R, as that model is now solely the domain of the 890 Adventure (KTM has actually dropped the base 890 Adventure and will only be offering the 890 Adventure R in 2024, oh, and the video below is of a 2023 model released in Europe. It’s the same as our 2024).
The $10,990 MSRP 2024 KTM 790 Adventure gains a 20 percent heavier crankshaft for smoother low-rpm/speed performance, new throttle bodies, and a new knock control sensor aims to help combustion of the dodgy fuels you may encounter in the middle of nowhere.
There’s a new exhaust with a redesigned catalytic convertor, new optional quickshifter, new Power Slip and Assist clutch, and a bigger airbox to help the 799cc parallel-twin breathe better.
As for the electronics, you’ll get a six-axis IMU, Cornering Traction Control and ABS, Motor Slip Regulation and the control of the Ride Modes.
Suspension comes in the form of WP’s 43mm APEX fork with preload adjustability and a WP APEX shock, both ends with 7.9 in. of ground clearance.
The 790 will run a 5.3-gallon gas tank, 33-inch seat height and you can use the KTMconnect App to take calls and use the turn-by-turn navigation.
Expect the 2024 KTM 790 Adventure to arrive in dealers by January 2024.
