The 40th annual Paris Supercross is underway inside the Paris La Défense Arena. There’s lots to watch for this year as Hunter Lawrence makes his 450 Supercross debut alongside brother Jett Lawrence. Cooper Webb is also on track aboard his new Star Racing Yamaha as is defending King of Paris, Ken Roczen.
Night One
SX1
Jett Lawrence may have surprised some fans as he swept all three of the SX1 (450cc) main events. There was no brotherly love in race two when he waited until the last turn of the last lap to pass Hunter after battling for the full moto. Jett then traded the lead position with Roczen in race three after both riders found themselves on the ground. The number-18 took the night one overall with 1-1-1 results.
Hunter Lawrence claimed second overall with 2-2-6, while Roczen rounded out the podium with 3-6-2 scores. Webb technically tied for third on overall points (5-3-3) but the better result went to the German.

SX2
Jo Shimoda made his racing debut with the Factory Honda HRC team this weekend and grabbed the first two wins in the SX2 division. He then made an early mistake in the final main, crossing the finish line in 13th position after the opening lap.
Tom Vialle led in front of his home country while Shimoda was forced to come through the pack. Eventually, Shimoda worked his way to third as Vialle took the win over American, Jace Owen. Shimoda’s 1-1-3 earned him the overall ahead of Owen and Vialle.

Night Two
SX1
Jett Lawrence won again on night two, but not in the same dominant fashion. Two average starts forced him to charge through the field, finishing second to Hunter Lawrence and Ken Roczen in the first two races. Race three put the three contenders head to head but more drama ensued as Jett put Hunter on the ground in a pass for second place. He then overtook the lead when Roczen hit the dirt in a solo crash.
With 2-2-1 finishes, Jett Lawrence became the new King of Paris! He is the 28th different winner of the event and the first Australian since Chad Reed back in 2007.

SX2
Jo Shimoda picked up where he left off on Sunday by winning two of three main events. He crashed at the start of race two but again salvaged a third. Anthony Bourdon took the win in race two after passing Tom Vialle in the final turn. A final win in race three earned Shimoda the Prince of Paris crown ahead of Vialle and Bourdon. Shimoda is the first Japanese rider to earn this title in the 40 year history.
