Repsol Honda’s Toni Bou (Montesa) won round five of the indoor FIM X-Trial Championship in Andorra on October 7. The last X-Trial round was held in early April prior to the opening round of the TrialGP World Championship, which has since been completed, with Bou wrapping up the title last month.
In Andorra, Bou was running second to GasGas rider Jaime Busto after the first circuit. However, Bou came back to take the overall win.
“On the first lap, I didn’t have a very good feeling, so for the second, I changed bikes, and it was much better,” said Bou.
Bou dropped 15 marks overall to Busto’s 26. Bou’s teammate, Gabriel Marcelli, with 30 points, completed the podium.
“It’s been good to get back competing indoors again, and to finish as runner-up is very positive,” said Busto. “Things started well for me, with no mistakes at all on the opening lap. That put me in the lead and in a good place for the following rounds. Unfortunately, in the final, I started with a five; my bike slipped a little. After such a good start to the night, it was a little frustrating, but to finish on the podium as runner-up is very positive.”CN
