Road 2 Recovery Foundation Announces Conclusion of Involvement in Carlsbad Raceway Monument Project
This is a press release from R2R…
Poway, CA (September 1, 2023) – The Road 2 Recovery Foundation (R2R) has officially announced its decision to end its involvement in the Carlsbad Raceway Monument Project. After significant deliberation and comprehensive reviews from its Board of Directors, R2R has determined that ending its almost eight years of involvement in the project is in its best interest.
As of August 30, 2023, final and legally binding separation agreements have been executed between R2R and the other parties involved in the project. This decision, although difficult, reflects R2R’s commitment to maintaining clarity and transparency with its goals and resources to its donors. R2R’s objective is to remain focused on its core competencies, choosing projects and initiatives to support its mission and help continue providing vital services to injured athletes and their families.
Earlier communication was dispatched to all Carlsbad Raceway Monument Memorial Brick donors, informing them of this decision and that 100% of their donations will be refunded. R2R has shipped all Memorial Brick refund checks via the United States Postal Service to the donors’ addresses on file. Donors are advised to watch for these in the coming days if they have not received them. If, for any reason, you do not receive your refund check, please promptly reach out to Anita at Anita@Road2Recovery.com. While R2R is no longer involved in the project, they have been informed it will continue. “This decision was met with deep sadness personally as I have always had a connection with not only the Carlsbad Raceway track but also with its steeped history in American Motocross,” said Jimmy Button, President of the Road 2 Recovery Foundation. “It is a shame that the vision of this project continued to be hit with unimaginable hurdles, which in the end, led to the decision of the Foundation to remove itself from the project. R2R, its supporters, and donors will continue to work towards our mission as we have done the past two decades. I personally want to thank everyone that has donated their time, effort, energy, and most importantly, their money towards this project.”
The Road 2 Recovery Foundation remains steadfast in its dedication to its mission and significant initiatives. R2R would like to sincerely thank the community for their unwavering support and understanding throughout this project.
