Two new faces will be on the line this weekend at round 10 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship as both Julien Beaumer and Casey Cochran are set to make their professional debuts. Both riders recently competed at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National, Beaumer in the Pro Sport division, Cochran in the B class.
Beaumer signed with the Red Bull Factory Racing Team earlier this year for the Supercross Futures events when he won the Glendale and East Rutherford rounds. He locked in a new multi-year contract with the team earlier this week which carries him into his professional career. The new deal will see him compete in the full SuperMotocross World Championship in 2024.
“Being a part of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team means the world to me,” said Beaumer. “I’ve worked my entire life to get to this point and I can’t thank everybody enough for the opportunity to ride for such an amazing team. My goals for these last two rounds are to learn each weekend, get better with that experience, see where we stack up, and also what we need to improve on going into next year.”
Cochran is also making his debut in the pro ranks with the Rockstar Husqvarna Factory racing Team for the final two rounds of the Pro Motocross Championship, before dropping back down to the amateurs for the new SuperMotocross SMX World All-Stars (amateur race) at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The news of Cochran’s debut also comes as Husqvarna announced that RJ Hampshire won’t be racing due to injuries sustained at the Unadilla round.
“Casey has had an unbelievable season so far this year,” said Nathan Ramsey, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager. “He has checked all the boxes and I feel like it’s time for him to get his feet wet in the professional ranks – what better way to do it than at a Pro Motocross event.”
“I’ve had a pretty good year on the 250, so I’m stoked to get the opportunity to line up against the best in the business at the last two rounds of Pro Motocross,” Cochran said.
