Jeremy Martin Injury Update
Ryan Nitzen | April 20, 2023
Looks like we won’t be seeing Jeremy Martin this weekend for round 14 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series in East Rutherford. The Club MX FXR Yamaha rider suffered a collapsed lung after crashing last weekend’s 250SX main event in Atlanta.
His crash was briefly caught during the broadcast and is credited with 21st position. He’s out for this weekend but plans to return to action in Nashville. Martin is sixth in overall points with a best finish of fourth this year.
From the team – “After his crash in Atlanta, Jeremy Martin, like many racers, felt a bit banged up and was going to tough it out until New Jersey this weekend. Even though he felt slightly better, he decided to go for an x-ray to see if he has an issue with ribs or something else. The imaging determined that he has the remains of a collapsed lung that was healing itself over the past few days. The complications from the injury make it difficult to breathe and impossible to get on an airplane and fly due to the cabin pressure changes. With all that said, Jeremy will not be racing this weekend but will return to competition in Nashville.”
