Atlanta, GA (March 23, 2023) – Pirelli Tire North America captured the 2023 AMA Arenacross Championship with Kyle Peters and Phoenix Racing Honda this past weekend in Salem, Virginia, making it the fourth consecutive title for Peters and his team. The championship-winning weekend saw Peters take the checkered flag and win in the second main event aboard his Pirelli Scorpion MX32-equipped Honda CRF250R. The win marked his 16th of the season and extended his points lead, enabling Peters to clinch the title with two rounds remaining.
“Another incredible season for Kyle and the entire Phoenix Racing Honda team,” said Nick Walton, off-road race manager, Pirelli. “To achieve what he has done for four consecutive seasons is something special that Pirelli is honored to have played a role in. We’ve learned a lot working alongside Kyle and Phoenix Racing Honda these last few years, and that knowledge benefits the everyday consumer where Pirelli is the OE fitment on the Honda CRF250R. Congratulations to everyone at Phoenix Racing Honda!”
Pirelli is the tire of choice and comes as original equipment on the 2023 Honda CRF250R with the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft front and rear tires. Phoenix Racing Honda relied on the performance of the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft throughout the AMA Arenacross season, further proving their performance capabilities and Pirelli’s “we sell what we race, we race what we sell” motto.
“I’m so stoked to make it four in a row with Phoenix Racing Honda,” said Peters. “I faced a lot of adversity to get back to where I am now following my injury after the championship last year. It was a true test for me as a rider and athlete. We’re searching for milliseconds in Arenacross, and Pirelli continues to play an important role in helping me find that little extra that I need to get the job done.”
Peters will look to keep his momentum rolling as the championship enters its final two rounds of the season in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 24 and Lexington, Kentucky, on March 31.
