Daytona Beach, FL (February 23, 2023) – GOMR (Grumpy Old Men Racing) is excited to announce its return to Mission SuperTwins presented by S&S Cycle competition, fielding Billy “The Kid” Ross aboard an Indian FTR750.
Johnny and Sarah Goad will again be at the helm of the team with Tom Draina and Buddy Pulliam onboard as crew members, while Russ and Ilene Briggs continue to provide the resources.
Ross made his much-anticipated Progressive American Flat Track debut in 2021 in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles presented by KICKER category. After showing flashes of his ability as a rookie, Ross stepped up to Mission Production Twins duty a year ago and truly came into his own. He finished fourth in the final championship standings, highlighted by his maiden professional win at the Laconia ST, followed by another podium effort the next time out at the Lima Half-Mile.
Ross said, “I’m super excited to start this year. I have been training hard this offseason to be fully prepared. Johnny Goad and the entire GOMR team have been great to work with, and I’m looking forward to the season opener.”
Sarah Goad said, “Billy has a will to win and puts forth the effort both on and off the track to accomplish the high goals he has set for himself. It is refreshing to work with someone who is always prepared and responsive. He approaches his racing both as a professional athlete and a businessman. We see this as a key element in team chemistry and are confident in the combined talents of the team. With Johnny’s years of experience and Billy’s work ethic it should make for an exciting combination. All this being said, we are looking forward to having fun.”
Johnny Goad said, “The team’s goal for 2023 is to improve each weekend with the ultimate goal of scoring a podium finish.”
GOMR is pleased to continue its long-term relationship with BriggsAuto.com as primary sponsor with additional sponsorship from Martin Trucking. CD Martin is an avid dirt track fan/sponsor and enjoys helping young riders and competes in the vintage racing venue. Buddy and Miriam Pulliam of Precision Body Works will perform all the paint work and will help with the wrenching on race day. In addition to the long-standing sponsors, GOMR would like to thank Jerry Stinchfield and Roof Systems of Dallas, Texas, Mission Foods, and Liqui Moly.
