A town hall meeting is planned to discuss the new 2023 Oregon motorcycle lane-sharing bill (Senate Bill 422).
Here is more information from a press release:
Building on the successes of 2019’s HB2314 and 2021’s SB574, Lane Share Oregon is back with another Oregon motorcycle lane sharing bill, Senate Bill 422.
This bill incorporates years of strategy, lobbying, feedback, and hard work by many volunteers. We [Land Share Oregon] feel strongly confident that this year, SB422 can pass in the Oregon Legislature.
If you want to learn more about SB422, please join us and the Sang-Froid Riding Club at a free public town hall on Wednesday, February 1st. We’ll cover:
- What happened in 2021
- What is planned for 2023
- How you can help (your help went a long way in 2019 and 2021, and will go a long way in 2023!)
We’ll save plenty of time for discussion / Q&A. (And yeah, we’re still chapped about the veto, too.)
The good news is that 2023’s Senate Bill 422 already has a dozen sponsors, with a nearly even split of Democrats and Republicans, House and Senate, from a variety of urban, rural, and suburban districts.
