First Look: 2023 Ducati Diavel V4
Rennie Scaysbrook | October 28, 2022
The Ducati Diavel has been given a new lease of life with the addition of the V4 Grantourismo motor replacing the aging 1260cc L-twin.
The new Diavel V4 will retail for $26,695 in Ducati Red or $26,995 for Thrilling Black and will come to the game with a claimed 168 hp and 93 lb-ft of stump-pulling torque, pushing all that forward momentum through the trademark 240-section rear tire that’s wrapped around a beautiful five-spoke alloy wheel with chrome machined surfaces.
There are four riding modes of Sport, Touring, Urban and the new Wet weather mode, Cornering ABS, and up and down quickshifter, Traction, Wheelie, Cruise, and of course, Launch Control.
The Diavel V4 has lost an impressive 28.6 lb over the old 1260 model—11 lb in the engine and 17.6 lb in the chassis/running gear with Ducati claiming a curb weight without fuel of 491 lb.
The ergonomics have been tweaked, with the seat height raised 0.4 in. to 31.1 in., and the handlebar moved 0.78 in. closer to the rider for better slow-speed maneuvering.
Expect to see the 2023 Ducati Diavel V4 on dealer floors by the Spring of 2023.
