Update from September 29, 2022
Ducati has unveiled the third Multistrada to be powered by the 170 horsepower V4 Grantourismo motor in the new Rally edition.
Coming in at $31,495 MSRP for the Ducati Red colorway with the Brushed Aluminum and Matte Black color adding an extra $500, the Rally is aimed squarely at the king of maxi-ADV riding in the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure.
The Rally’s main difference between it the V4 S we tested last year is a 2.1 gallon gas tank increase to make 7.9 gallons (the same as the GSA), with 0.8 inches more front suspension travel with the Ducati Minimum Preload function that debuted in 2021, lightened spoked wheels, a 40 mm taller windscreen, longer passenger seat due to the top box mounting point being moved further back, and a revised Enduro mode that limits the Rally to 114 horsepower with the electronic controls of traction and wheelie control wound right back.
Each Multistrada V4 Rally delivered to the U.S., Canada and Mexico will arrive in the Adventure Travel and Radar configuration, adding aluminum side cases, heated grips and seats to the equation and you can expect to see these bikes on dealer floors by May, 2023.
