MDK Motorsports Completes World Supercross Roster
Cycle News Staff | September 12, 2022
MDK Motorsports announced their complete rider roster for the upcoming World Supercross Championship (WSX). Chad Reed was already named one of the 450cc riders a few weeks back, but three spots remained under the tent. Former AMA Supercross race winner Josh Grant joins Reed as the second 450 rider, while Justin Bogle and Derek Drake make up the two SX2 (250cc) entries.
Both 450 riders are coming out of retirement to race the new series. Grant last raced the AMA circuit back in 2019 with his final result being an eighth in the 450 class at East Rutherford. Reed finished the 2020 AMA Supercross series with a season-best 10th at the Salt Lake City finale.
Bogle returns to a 250 machine for the WSX series. The last time Bogle raced a 250 was 2015, defending his east coast regional title from the year prior. He’s ridden KTM’s in the past and will bring veteran experience with him. Drake has two seasons of Supercross under his belt leading into the first round of WSX.
From the photos and videos we’ve seen, Reed, Bogle, and Drake will race aboard KTM 450 and 250 SX-F models, respectively while Grant is riding a Honda CRF450R. The MDK bikes all share a similar white look, very reminiscent of the classic AMA Supercross MDK team. Reed is seen wearing Alpinestars gear head to toe with Grant in his familiar Fasthouse setup. Both Bogle and Drake are sporting custom-branded MDK gear by Canvas MX, Bell Helmets, and Alpinestars boots.
