2023 BMW S 1000 RR First Look
Rennie Scaysbrook | September 29, 2022
The bike that ushered in the modern era of superbike in 2009—BMW’s redoubtable S 1000 RR—will be getting a makeover for 2023.
It’s the first time since 2019 that the S 1000 RR has seen any love from BMW as the company has put all its superbike eggs in the M 1000 RR basket (BMW’s version of a Ducati Panigale V4 R vs a Panigale V4 S), but the 2023 S promises to bridge the gap somewhat to its high-flying brother while keeping costs somewhat palatable.
The new S 1000 RR will cost $17,895 MSRP, making it one of the least expensive European superbikes on the market today. For that money, you’ll get a 205 hp/83 lb-ft inline four-cylinder motor, a revised chassis with more engineered lateral flex and an adjustable swingarm pivot height, new ABS Pro Brake By Slide and Slide Control and Slick tire algorithms, and new bodywork that features winglets BMW’s claims adds 22 lb of downforce.
You’ll be able to pick the 2023 BMW S 1000 RR up at your dealer by January 2023.
