Throwback Thursday: The All-Jeff Podium (1991)
Larry Lawrence | August 25, 2022
Jeff Stanton joined on the podium in Anaheim by fellow Jeffs – Matiasevich and Ward
In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock to January of 1991 and the Anaheim Supercross. In what must have been a fairly rare occurrence the podium is filled with riders named Jeff. The winner holding his trophy was Honda’s Jeff Stanton. Finishing second and third were Kawasaki riders Jeff Ward (right) and Jeff Matiasevich (left). It was the third round of the series that year and Stanton’s second victory. While all three of the Jeff’s were solidly in the AMA Supercross championship chase that season, in the end it was a Jean who won the title – more specifically Honda ace Jean-Michel Bayle.
