July 22, 2022 Update
It is with regret that the FIM, Oman Automobile Association (OAA), Infront Moto Racing and local organizers advise that the MXGP of Oman, which was set to host the finale of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship at the end of September, will not take place in 2022.
Instead, the 2022 MXGP season will now come to a close with the final round at the BitCi MXGP of Turkey hosted at the well-known Afyonkarahisar circuit. While the MXGP of Oman will not be held this year, Infront Moto Racing is working closely with the organizer to hold a future Grand Prix in Oman and, as such, is looking forward to visiting the country very soon.
July 5, 2022 Update
Infront Moto Racing together with Lahti Events Ltd., the organizer of the upcoming MXGP of Finland, the FIM and FIM Europe, announced that an alternative venue has been selected to host the Finnish Grand Prix, August 13-14.
The event, that was originally set to take place in Iitti-KymiRing, will instead head back to an old favorite venue, Vauhtipuisto in Hyvinkaa.
Hyvinkaa is located approximately 40 miles from the capital Helsinki and has been part of the FIM Motocross World Championship since making its first appearance back in 1965.
Most recently, MXGP visited Hyvinkaa in 2014, with Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings victorious in MXGP and MX2, but since then, in the fall of 2017 the venue has undergone some renovations to bring some variety and interest back to the track. CN
