FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship: revised dates for Rallye du Maroc and Andalucia Rally
Following the postponement of the Andalucia rally to the autumn due to the dry conditions in the region and associated fire risk, the event organizers, the FIA, the FIM and A.S.O. together have set new dates for the next rounds of the FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).
The Rallye du Maroc, initially scheduled for October 7-12, will be brought forward by a week for October 1-6 to allow the Andalucia rally to take place October 18-23, leaving an interval of 12 days between the events.
The FIA, the FIM and the W2RC promoter A.S.O. are aware of the challenges brought about by the situation for the competing teams and the consequences in their preparation and organization. The change of dates means a very intensive end to the season but it promises to be a hugely exciting finale to the championship.
They would like to thank Morocco’s Fédération Royale Marocaine des Sports Automobiles and Motocyclisme for supporting these changes. They are also grateful to the Spanish automobile and motorcycle federations, Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (RFEDA) and the Real Federación Motociclista Española (RFME), for their collaboration and to the Todoterreno Cuenca Rally for modifying their schedule, with their event now being held October 14-15.

FIM World Rally-Raid Championship
10/1-6 (Rnd 3) Rallye du Maroc
10/18-23 (Rnd 4) Andalucia Rally
The third round of FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship, the Andalucia Rally, has been postponed until autumn due to a fire risk from the heat wave and drought in Andalusia.
This is a press release from FIM…
Scheduled for June 7 to 12, the third edition of the Andalucia Rally, which is also the third round of the FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), has been postponed due to the heat wave and drought that has hit Andalusia this past month.
These extreme weather conditions have considerably increased the risk of fires in the region, leading the local authorities to raise the level of fire alert to its maximum. To preserve this already fragile ecosystem and despite the full support of the local authorities, all the parties involved have decided that continuing with the rally is not possible at this time. This case of force majeure has obliged A.S.O., the FIA, the FIM and the organizer to postpone the Andalucia Rally until the autumn, to a date still under consideration, but on the initially planned route.
