| May 24, 2022
Round three of the AMA IRC U.S. Hard Enduro Series took place at Hansen Hollows Off-Road Park in Spragueville, Iowa, May 21-22, for the SRT Iowan Hard Enduro. This marked the first East round for the series and saw several new competitors take to the course. There were no new faces atop the podium, however, as FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart claimed his third win in a row.

The weekend consisted of a two-day format with pro riders lining up for a qualifying hot lap on Saturday to determine their start position for Sunday’s four-hour race. Hart proved to be fast from the start and topped the hot lap by over two minutes to claim pole position. This put him in a great position for the Sunday pro race, which consisted of a 10-mile course through the Iowa forest.
On Sunday, Hart got off to a fourth-place start but raced himself into the lead through the tricky EnduroCross section of the course. After taking the lead, he began slowly extending his gap over the next four hours of racing. After completing five laps, Hart finished more than 12 minutes ahead of Colton Haaker.
“It was a really great weekend in Iowa! I was able to take the hot lap win on Saturday and everything just fell into place on Sunday,” Hart said. “My bike was awesome all day and I didn’t have any big crashes or anything. Towards the end, I had to deal with lapped traffic in some of the sections but overall, it was a pretty clean race and I had a lot of fun.”
Haaker was the only other rider to complete five laps and made a strong charge late in the race.
Ryder LeBlond rounded off the podium in third after completing four laps.
David Knight and Quinn Wentzel also finished strong, claiming fourth and fifth, respectively. Shelby Turner won the Pro Women’s class and qualified for the Sunday Pro Race but opted out due to a foot injury.
The next round of the AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Series will be the Bad Medicine Hard Enduro on May 28-29 in Little Hocking, Ohio.
