Chase Sexton Post-Seattle Update
Cycle News Staff | March 28, 2022
Chase Sexton was victim of another huge crash during qualifying at round 12 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series in Seattle, Washington. The Honda HRC rider missed a shift while tripling onto a table-top and hit neutral upon landing. He was spit off before landing in the face of the next jump and had the bike tackle him as well. The crash can be seen here.
Sexton says he’s “…a little sore…” but seemingly okay after his spectacular crash that took him out of the Seattle Supercross.
Seattle wasn’t very good for me,” he said. “I had a big get-off in the second qualifying session; I mis-shifted on a three-on and ended up in neutral, and went over the bars, which didn’t feel great. I hit my back pretty hard and was overall shaken up, so we decided to sit out the night. Overall, I feel pretty good [on Monday, March 28]. My body’s a little sore, but I’m excited to get back to work, address any issues and get back at it in St. Louis.”
“We’re going to regroup, do what we can to get Chase in the shape that he needs to be in for the next race,” said Honda HRC Team Manager Lars Lindstrom.
Luckily for Sexton, the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Series takes its first weekend off of the season this weekend before resuming in St. Louis, April 9.
