2022 Red Bull Day In The Dirt Down South Recap

The Red Bull Day In The Dirt Down South at Dade City MX (Pasco County Fairgrounds) in Florida, March 11-13, was a big success with over 3400 entries. The starting gate for each race was stacked, as many riders and their families had the Red Bull DITD circled on the calendar for a year.

The Reunion race kicked off the weekend with Ronnie Renner taking the win in the Intermediate/Expert class, representing Dade City MX. On Saturday, the Two-Stroke and Still Smoking race had Zach Osborne and Gared Steinke battling it out for first place with Osborne taking the win.
The Bossa Nova Grand Prix 3-Man Team Race was won by Team Fasthouse, consisting of Josh Grant, Tyler Bereman and Osborne.
The last race of the day on Saturday was the Pro/Am GP, which Luke Renzland won.
On Sunday, the Intermediate/Expert/Pro Grand Prix Pro 450 holeshot went to Micheal Picone and he was able to hold off Ronnie Stewart for the win at his old local track.
The Moto A Gogo Team race was won by the duo of Grant and Tyler Bereman of Team Fasthouse, while Team Skunk Dog came in second.
The Coup De Grace Survival Race which ends at the discretion of the Red Bull race officials was won by Renzland. He said that he was just trying to survive after competing in four races on Saturday and one race Sunday morning before the Coup De Grace Survival race. He said that he had spent all his energy on the other races and admitted that the Day In The Dirt isn’t complete unless you do the Coup De Grace Survival race.
Justin Sipes was awarded the overall Ironman winner and in order to that you must compete in and finish four required races plus one of your choice.
