Press Release | February 15, 2022
On February 8 via social media, it was announced that the OMA Nationals series will be discontinued. Instead, the OMA race organizers intend to focus on the MXC series.
The OMA Nationals is a cross-country racing series that is held mostly on natural terrain, in everything from tight woods single track to open corn fields.
Here is the post from OMA on February 8:
After much family debate we have decided to discontinue the OMA series. We would like to thank you all for the 20 years of support and memories that go along with putting on a series all across the Midwest and southern states at times. Dad is grateful for the help from many sponsors that supported the series and especially grateful for the Early Pro riders that made it happen, Jimmy Jarrett, Shane Watts, Justin Williamson, Paul Whibley, Scott Watkins, Nick Fahringer, Russell Bobbitt, Adam Bonneur, Steward Baylor, Cody Barnes, Mike Witkowski, Shane Klimek, Jordan Ashburn, Mark Heresco, ATV racers Matt Lindle, John Pitts, Bryan Hulsey, Spencer Dickerson, Shea Dickson, And the many others that wanted to race tight woods, and tough off road races.
Thank you Kato and Tom Webb! We could not have done what we did in the early years without you!
Thank you Tanner Whipple, Cole Zuidema and Jayson Crawford for following recently.
Thank you landowners!
Thank you racers and your families for the memories, a lifetime of memories!
If you would like to grab any photos off the OMA FB page do so, as I intend to delete it as well, in time.
We will continue on with the MXC series locally in the future for now.
The OMA website will be shut down eventually, all MXC racing info will be on the MXC Racing website and FB page. Speaking of which, the 2022 [MXC] schedule is posted.
Thank guys and keep em upright!
