A thinner and smaller version of the Monimoto GPS Tracker is now available.
The Monimoto is a device that attaches to a motorcycle and alerts the owner and tracks the bike’s location if the paired key fob is not within the vicinity of the bike. The new Monimoto 7 GPS Tracker is updated with next-generation LTE-M connectivity, which gives it better battery life and broader signal coverage. It also includes a new eSIM chip that makes it easier to switch mobile data carriers while crossing borders. The Monimoto 7 has the same low price as its predecessors of only $199.

Here is more from Monimoto’s press release:
We’ve all been there. The weather is nice, you go out for a ride, park your bike and go for a meal or coffee. Everything’s perfect but something is worrying you. Right, theft.
Over 14,000 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. in 2021 and recovery rates are not optimistic. Fortunately, Monimoto—a motorcycle security device trusted by over 20,000 users—has just launched a new version of its GPS tracker to stay one step ahead of motorcycle thieves.
“The key to resolving a theft scenario is rapid response and recovery,” said Monimoto CEO Rolandas Dranseika. “And that’s exactly what Monimoto does. We empower users to respond quickly when their beloved motorcycle is being tampered with, and if the thieves manage to take it, our tool helps law enforcement retrieve it. However, there’s always a cat-and-mouse game when it comes to thieves and theft prevention. We are constantly pushing the boundaries to improve bike recovery numbers.”
The tried-and-tested premise to Monimoto is simple. There are two parts—a small tracking device and a proximity key fob. The user installs the tracking device anywhere on their motorcycle or vehicle—preferably where thieves can’t easily find it. If the vehicle moves with the key fob present, nothing happens. If the proximity key fob is missing, however, the tracker will start its GPS and GSM subsystems, notify the user via app, and start sharing its location.
The latest iteration of the device—Monimoto 7—introduces new tech that will help users keep their motorcycles even more secure. Furthermore, these new features will come at no extra costs to the user. The Monimoto 7 has the same low price as its predecessors of only $199.
The key new feature is next-generation LTE-M connectivity. Here’s what that means for Monimoto users:
- Better battery life: the LTE-M technology is much more power-efficient than 3G or standard LTE. Depending on your usage patterns, this can double or even triple the already-impressive one-year battery life. Greater battery life means that if thieves ever do try to steal your property, you can feel confident that Monimoto will be ready to do its job;
- Greater signal coverage: LTE-M is better at penetrating into underground parking areas and can carry further than other network signals. This means that Monimoto users get broader coverage and faster responsiveness, even in situations where other networks or GPS can have trouble. This means that it will be harder for thieves to obstruct Monimoto’s signal if they steal your motorcycle – they can run but they can’t hide.
However, these aren’t the only improvements to Monimoto 7. The engineering team has also altered its form factor, making it easier for users to conceal the tracking device on their vehicles. The new eSIM chip makes it easier to switch mobile data carriers while crossing borders, and a number of tweaks have made Monimoto much more accurate and reliable.
“These upgrades ensure that Monimoto makes the most out of leading mobile network technology to keep users’ property secure,” added Monimoto CEO Rolandas Dranseika. “We hope that our decision to add powerful new capabilities at no extra cost to the user reflects our commitment to securing our users’ rides. Nobody wants to wake up and find their motorcycle missing!”
