Ethan Mackenzie Lane Signs with Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS team
Payson, UT (July 6, 2021) – The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS is excited to announce the signing of the Team’s latest addition, Pro/Am rider Ethan Mackenzie Lane. Lane hailing from Malaga, Spain, is spending this summer making his U.S. Pro/Am debut in the 250 Pro Sport and Open Pro Sport classes at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National in early August.
Lane gained his amateur experience, and early Pro experience in Europe with the Hitachi KTM, fueled by Milwaukee team. He made his trip across the pond in April, and quickly made it through the Loretta Lynn’s National qualifying process, earning a best of third overall in the 250 Pro Sport class at the LL’s Southeast Regional Qualifier.
“We are excited to bring Ethan onto the team, as it allows us to work towards a true feeder program that we have always wanted to do, but every level along the way is difficult”, says team co-owner Forrest Butler. “We have learned that in the past, both team and rider must respect each level of the process and at just 16 years of age, Lane holds an incredible amount of maturity. I am excited to watch him progress over time, and help him to achieve his goals.”
Lane’s racing schedule is a bit unique, in that it is set up to gain experience from all the current levels available to him. The 2021 Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National will be his first big race for the team, and then the future is wide open. Depending, he may try one or two of the remaining 250 U.S. Pro National’s under the recently new AMA rules that allows Pro/Am riders try their hand at both levels.
Lane also still has very much appreciated support from the Hitachi KTM, fueled by Milwaukee team in Europe, and may just race a few MX2 rounds of the remainder of the MXGPs. Either way, all roads lean toward gaining the best racing experiences possible. Ethan will race the 2021 Florida Winter Olympics, as well as the 2022 Florida Winter Am series, with an eventual plan to launch his full time Pro debut at the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Nationals.
Overall, the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS team is excited for this new chapter. Lane is already based out of and training full time with the team at the @_83compound_ , and we as always thank all of our team sponsors for helping us make this race team possible and continue to support the sport together.
