AmPro Yamaha’s Layne Michael Wins U.S. Sprint Enduro Championship and secures the final spot on the U.S. ISDE Trophy Team.
Travelers Rest, SC (June 2, 2021) – We are beyond excited to announce that Layne Michael has oicially locked up the 2021 U.S. Sprint Enduro Championship with only one round left to go, proving that he is without a doubt, the fastest sprint enduro racer in the country.
“2021 has been an incredible year for the AmPro Yamaha Race Team, with wins across the board in the National Enduro Series and the GNCC Series and now with Layne Michael clinching his first National Championship in the newly founded U.S. Sprint Enduro Series,” said team owner and seven-time AMA National Champion Randy Hawkins. “I think Layne is more than ready to represent the USA in this year’s International Six Day Competition.”
The AmPro Yamaha Team’s recent success has started a “Blue Wave” across the off-road industry and Lanye Michael’s Yamaha YZ450FX has proven its diverse capabilities in multiple disciplines of off-road racing.
“I just love the sprint-enduro format,” said Michael. “These races just fit my riding style and the YZ450FX is just the perfect tool for the job. I’m incredibly grateful for the support that Yamaha has given me throughout the last two years and I’m excited to see what we can do on the global stage at this year’s Six Days in Italy. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve looked up to the ISDE legends and now I feel ready to compete with them. It’s truly an honor to be selected for the U.S. Trophy Team and I’m ready to bring home the gold!”
With less than four months to go until the 95th FIM ISDE in Lombardy-Piedmont, Italy, Layne and the AmPro Yamaha Team will continue to focus on the GNCC Series and the National Enduro Series while also preparing for the grueling training that comes with competing on the global stage.
