Cody Webb topped the 2021 RevLimiter Extreme Enduro results in Bridgeport, Texas. The FactoryOne Sherco rider dominated the event by setting the fastest qualifying time on Saturday and then winning all three rounds of racing on Sunday. FMF KTM backed Trystan Hart was a strong second overall, with second-place finishes in all three motos and Rockstar Husqvarna rider Colton Haaker rounded out the overall podium with 3-3-4 finishes.
The RevLimiter served as the opening round of the AMA Kenda East Extreme Enduro Championship and round two in the West regional series. The event has become one of the premier Extreme races on the calendar, with challenging rock sections and varying weather conditions typically contributing to the difficulty. This year, heat and humidity played a factor for many of the riders.
Webb, the defending RevLimiter race winner was once again unstoppable on the Texas rocks. He set the fastest qualifying time on Saturday at 7 minutes and 56 seconds to beat Husqvarna rider Ryder Leblond by 21 seconds. Hart, Max Gerston and Will Riordan rounded out the top five.
In race one on Sunday, Webb finished with a time of one hour, 42 minutes and 15 seconds. Hart was second a little over three minutes back and Haaker was third, another minute and 36 seconds behind. Leblond finished fourth and Jordan Ashburn rounded out the top five.
Webb set the fast time again in race two, this time with a time of 47 minutes and 42 seconds. Hart was one minute and 50 seconds behind and Haaker was again third, this time four minutes and 41 seconds behind Webb. Ashburn and Leblond rounded out the top five.
In the final moto, the top thirty riders starting in a mass start and Webb got off to a poor start after tangling with another rider and started in tenth place. But Webb was not going to be denied a third win of the day and he quickly worked his way to the front of the pack. Webb took the final moto win with a time of 51 minutes and 20 seconds. Hart finished one minute and 44 seconds back for his third runner-up finish of the day. Leblond beat out Haaker to finish third in the final moto but Haaker took third overall for the day with Leblond fourth. Multi-time Trials champion Pat Smage finished fifth in the final moto and sixth overall for the event (6-7-5). Ashburn finished sixth in the final moto and fifth overall.
“Apparently Trystan thought I was Taylor Robert yesterday as we collided in the Mt. Rushmore section,” Cody Webb stated. “Doing my best to keep the new kids on the block from beating me. Happy to take the RevLimiter win and thankfully Cody Richelderfer had my Sherco dialed.”
“I’m in the same predicament I was in last year, I went 2-2-2 here again. I’m not too happy about it but I’m going to change some stuff and hopefully come out swinging at the next round and get him back. This track had like three hill climbs, the rest was all rocks, and that’s Cody’s specialty. The next one should have a lot of hill climbs so I’m looking forward to it,” Trystan Hart said about finishing second.
“I’m really just trying to get situated so we can start battling for wins and I’m making progress, so third place was a good start,” Haaker said. “I rode really consistent and smooth and the bike worked awesome, I was just a little off pace from first and second so just need to build on top of where I’m at. This is my first race where I felt like I did that so just going to keep moving forward with the same approach and keep chipping away at it. Thanks to the team and everybody, we’ll get them at the next one.”
In the women’s class, Canadian Shelby Turner took the win on her KTM. It was a tough race with a total time of two hours, 3 minutes, and 30 seconds for the winner. Beta rider Rachel Gutish finished 3 minutes and 30 seconds back. Louise Forsley rounded out the podium on her Sherco, 5 minutes and 7 seconds behind Turner.
