Cycle News Staff | March 11, 2021
Triumph has released a Rocket 3 R Black and Rocket 3 GT Triple Black in limited editions of just 1000 each worldwide.
The Rocket 3 R and GT have Triumph’s 2500cc inline-three engine, making it the largest displacement of any current production motorcycle, with a claimed torque of 163 ft-lb at 4000 rpm and 165 bhp at 6000 rpm. Both models feature a lightweight aluminum frame and fully adjustable Showa monoshock RSU with a piggy back reservoir on the rear and fully adjustable upside-down Showa 47mm cartridge front forks on the front.
The brakes are Brembo’s top specification Stylema road going radial monobloc calipers with twin floating discs. These cutting edge calipers are a lightweight and compact design, with optimised air flow for efficient cooling. The Rockets comes with Triumph’s cornering ABS and traction control as standard. Each bike is equipped with Triumph’s latest-generation full-color TFT information display where the four riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport and Rider) can be selected.
The LE Rockets come in a blacked-out paint scheme and the buyer receives a certificate of authenticity that matches the VIN.
