2021 Moto Guzzi V9 and V85 TT Models
Cycle News Staff | January 19, 2021
Moto Guzzi has released a pair of new V9 models—V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber—and two updated versions of its V85 TT.
The two 2021 Moto Guzzi V9 models have an 850cc V-twin engine, with a claimed 65 hp/73Nm of torque, that was derived from Guzzi’s V85 TT dual-sport. The frame is strengthened and the footpegs are mounted on rubber pads to reduce vibrations. In addition to ABS, the adjustable MGCT traction control system (which can be manually disabled) also comes standard.
The V9 Bobber has a new saddle, new side panels and a short front mudguard. Also new are the digital instrument cluster and a full LED lighting system that includes a headlight with DRL in the shape of the Mandello Eagle.
Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer is available in Grigio Lunare color scheme and the V9 Bobber comes in matte-finished Nero Essenziale color scheme.
2021 Moto Guzzi V85 TT and V85 TT Travel
The improvements to the 2021 V85 TT and V85 TT Travel models are primarily to the engine. It is still a 90° transversal, air-cooled V-twin with a pushrod and rockers timing system and two valves per cylinder (intake cylinders in titanium). What is new is Guzzi says it has greater torque at low and medium rpm thanks to optimized lifting of the pushrod and rockers timing cams and adjustments to the engine-control electronics.
The new spoked wheel rims now mount tubeless tires, and, in addition to the existing riding modes (Street, Rain, Off-Road) the V85 TTs have two more riding modes: Sport and Custom (as in customizable). Cruise control and a color-TFT instrument panel come standard.
V85 TT Travel receives all the technical upgrades of the V85 TT, and it comes accessorized with a Touring windscreen, side panniers, supplementary LED lights, adjustable heated grips, as well as the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia platform.
