Givi Trekker Alaska Aluminum Side Cases
Press Release | May 3, 2020
The Givi Trekker Alaska side cases are Givi Monokey compatible.
The Trekker Alaska cases weather resistant and are quick to snap in place and/or remove, once the racks have been installed. The Alaska luggage are Givi Monokey compatible, which means they can be used as both a top or as side cases, depending on which Givi mount selected (Givi PL, PL-R, PLO or PLO-R mounting racks can be used).
The Alaska cases come with a new release system: a small handle on the side of the case operates a steel cable that is tucked away inside the case frame, away and protected from the elements.
The back of the case is equipped with a hook that locks into its slots whenever you don’t want to use it or you are carrying the case off the bike. When the spring-loaded hook is deployed, it serves two separate purposes: First, it prevents the bag from dropping to the ground in case you activate the release system with a little too much enthusiasm. Second, it lets the side case sit at an angle to allow room for the lid to fully open without hitting the bottom of a top case.
The Givi Trekker Alaska Aluminum Side Cases come with matching keys, plus an extra lockset for an existing or future top case. They are sold in pairs and cost $795 for the brushed aluminum version and $825 black, powdercoated ones. They are expected to be available by the end of May.
