Cycle News Magazine 2020 Issue 19
Cycle News Staff | May 11, 2020
This week’s issue of Cycle News magazine includes a couple of motorcycle ride reviews, including our featured cover bike, the Rottweiler Performance KTM 790 Adventure R rally racer. This bike finished fourth overall against much smaller and more nimble 450cc singles at this year’s Sonora Rally. The purpose-built bike was ridden by Wes Vannieuswenhuise at the Sonora Rally and now it was ridden by our very own Road Test Editor Rennie Scaysbrook. We also review the very intriguing Royal Enfield Himalayan, an air-cooled, 411cc, four-stroke single adventure bike designed to carry you to far-away places—cheaply. With a $4749 MSRP, how could you not take a closer look at this do-it-all land cruiser? We couldn’t, so we took it for a spin and we were surprised. Elsewhere in the issue, we have an interview with MotoGP racer, Brit Cal Crutchlow who has been hanging out in California anxiously waiting for racing to begin. We talk with him about what might happen with this year’s racing season and his racing future. Is retirement looming? And racing, yes, we have racing! We tell you who won the Iowan Hard Enduro that managed to play out over the weekend. You will find all this and a lot more motorcycle events, news and commentary in this week’s issue.
